Butcher Block Wood Cutting Board

Butcher Block boards are laminated from assorted narrow strips of solid wood. These form attractive color variations and allow us to make use of narrower strips of wood instead of throwing them away. These may contain from one to four different species of solid wood in their construction. The final shapes are rectangular and all edges are rounded for a softer feel. Typical sizes are 7”+ x 12”+ long x 3/4” thick.

All cutting boards are made from four different wood species. They are White Oak, Walnut, Cherry, and Ambrosia Maple. These come in a variety of shapes and sizes; and all cutting and serving boards are finished with 100% food grade Mineral Oil only. All of our cutting boards are suitable for either cutting on or as serving platters for Charcuterie.

Notes on use and care:  All cutting boards are made of solid wood, not veneers, and must never be cleaned in a dishwasher. Use regular liquid dishwasher soap to wash under hot tap water by hand. Immediately towel dry all surfaces and lean against a kitchen backsplash wall to air dry before the next use. Additional 100% food grade mineral oil may be applied every 6 months or so to freshen the surfaces. Apply liberally with a paper towel and let oil absorb for 30 minutes - then wipe dry with a clean paper towel. Boards cleaned and treated in this way will last for decades of regular use.
